I have also gotten some great outfits in the past week and some outfit posts will be coming soon too, but ill give you a small preview.

tutu skirt, button up, bowtie from my friend
the best collar ever with a beautiful dress from my friend

And of course today is Christmas eve, so that means it is Christmas at my moms house.  Its a very long and complicated process and i do not really feel like explaining.  But the point is that i got a new computer!!! so that means the blogging will be more constant and better :)
Happy holidays

A Call For Help

I have a slight problem readers.  I want to redye my hair before my birthday party this weekend (I am turning 16 on the 19th) but i have no idea how i want to do it.  I might just keep it red.  But i also want to do something different and new and exciting.
One thing that I have been seriously considering is doing a half and half color.  Kind of like Curela devil.  If i did that i would cut my bangs to blunt which looks very cute on me too.
source: Melanie Martinez.

If i do my hair like this though it would be red and black not blonde and black....or maybe it would be blonde....hmmm. If not what other color should it be.  Can you please comment as soon as you can so i can have some input before i make my decision   thank you lovely readers.

Sweater Weather

Sweater (H&M) collared shirt (OBEY) , bowtie was a present

Well hello there my darlings.  How have you guys been? If you live in San Francisco i hope you are enjoying this fantastic sweater weather just as much as i am.  I know i have been talking and talking about this, but i just cannot get over it.  Sweaters are the fashion gods gifts to the world.  Just put on a collared shirt and nice skirt and you are good to go.  I don't know about you guys but i bear through the cold with a skirt on.  I have only worn pants twice to school since the school year has started, i don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.  Anyways, i have been trying to wear my sweaters this week and these are the best ones.
Fox sweater

Clockwork Orange inspired makeup (also Maya)

In other news, i have rekindled my love for the Nerdfighters. go on....do your happy dance....i know you want to.  Alright, now that that has been covered, I have been re watching the Brohterhood 2.0 videos again and rediscovering my Nerdfighter profile.  I am now saying goodbye to my social life and hello to my computer screen and the awesome that can come out of it.
oh, one more thing.

cheesy couple picture of Ilia and I before his first performance we were both playing in.  He cleans up nice, with his tux and all.

Is That a....*gasp*......boy???

Finally....sweater weather

Once again that time of the year has rolled around.  The time to stuff yourselves full of food and sit by the fireplace drinking hot cocoa with someone you love (or can at least tolerate to be around.  But more importantly  the time has come for fall clothing, this means that it is time to pile on the layers and go crazy with the scarves.  I have bins in my closet full of scarves just waiting to be worn.  Also I can break out the super dark lipstick and the heavy eye liner.  If you couldn't tell already I love the fall and winter time with a burning passion.
Well sadly I don't think there is really anything even remotely fashion related that has happened to me lately   I have been cut off from my shopping privileges (but have no fear, black Friday is coming) so i haven't gotten to buy anything new and cool.  I did get to dye my hair again so that was slightly fantastic, now it is no longer that odd pink/red/purple color.  It is a dark red that ever-so-luckily matches my favorite lipstick.

I do have slightly big news though.  (I am going to go on a personal rant for a second, don't mind me)  I now have a boyfriend.  *GASP* I know, shocker right? The fact that someone can stand to put up with me all the time? haha.  Well his name is Ilia and I really like him.  He's a musician just like me (he plays trumpet though) so we have band together.  I will try not to be one of those girls that just constantly writes about her boyfriend, so i will keep the posts about him to a minimum.  I just wanted to document this because.... because....i  don't actually know why.  Just because.
Ilia and I on Halloween

Okay, can we just take a moment for this. I suggested that he dress up as John Bender form the Breakfast Club, and i worked out more than perfectly.  He look exactly like him.

The Stars Come Out at Night

Saturn +hat = Haturn

Well hello all.  I am sad to say that Halloween is officially over now and i am very sad about it.  Halloween  has always been one of my favorite holidays.  I always get very into my Halloween costume and i try to make everyone get just as excited as i get.  Luckily I have really awesome friends that agree with me on the fact that you are never too old for Halloween.  While everyone was out partying, we were the hard core trick or treaters out in the Richmond District in the pouring rain .  It sounds unfortunate  but i have to say that i had so much fun.
The week of Halloween was crazy for us in San Francisco   The Giants won the World Series (WOOHOOO) and the parade to celebrate was decided to be on the day of Halloween.  I don't know whose idea that was but I was not very happy about it.  I felt very awkward going to the parade in my costume, but i was not about to pass up an opportunity to wear my costume.

Solar System

Going back to my costume I was a solar system for Halloween.  I think that this was one of my favorite costumes by far.  I try very hard every year not to be that girl that just wears skimpy clothing and ears and says that they are an animal.  I worked really hard on this costume this year.  What is consists of is a sparkly sweater (Forever 21), Galaxy tutu (DIY), metallic shorts (DIY), various planet jewelry (DIY), and of course lots of sparkles to go all over my eyes.
my wonderful friends

My friends also had very cool costumes too.  Lizzie was a sunflower (i made her tutu), Maya was a pirate, and Hanne was Crying Girl by Roy Lichtenstein.  We all try to be really creative.

My friends at school had some cool costumes too
Tweedle dee and tweedle dum.  They are the cutest couple
Alex from A Clockwork Orange
my wonderful fellow student gov Sophomores
Peter Pan
Marc as Cupid
Homeless (he didn't really have to do anything different)

There were a few more that i couldn't find pictures of at the moment, but i will.  I hope that all of your Halloweens were as successful as mine was.
If there is anything specific that you want me to blog about please comment.
XOXO

The Week of the Animals

Hello to all.  I apologize for being so long with out a blog post, but this week has been beyond stressful for me and now that things have gotten better i feel that I am in the right attitude to address all of you.
I have been running around like a wild person trying to get ready for all of the stuff that is coming up for me  like performances, clubs, fundraisers, tests, extracurricular activities, and of course planning my Halloween costume.  By the way i have decided to be a solar system/ galaxy.
Teaway!! the perfect thing to relieve stress after the PSAT and before going to the Opera.

This week for me was the PSAT week (yay standardized testing.....) and I, like many of you, hate testing.  Its so boring and they lock you in a room for 4 hours.  It is like my own special type of torture.  But I thought I could make this week better by wearing my newest discovery in the clearance section of H&M.....ANIMAL SOCKS!!!  They were just so cute i couldn't resist.
Monday: bunny socks
Tuesday: birds
Wednesday: cheetahs
Thursday: seals
Friday: penguins

I don't understand how anyone could pass these up if they saw them in a store.  They were just so cute I had to go up to my friends every day and ask them if they had seen my socks yet, and if they said no I would proceed to taking of my shoes just to show them.
Oh and finally one last thing.  I finally got my ID card for school and it was so funny when i got it, because I was really expecting myself to have red hair in it.  Its funny to remember that my hair was purple back then.
my favorite school picture by far.
(and yes i know it says Angelica, but that is my first name, and i go by Rain which is my middle name)

XOXO

Castro

Finally found my contacts so i get to wear sun glasses

Well hello there.  If you live in San FRancisco you can imagine the crazy crowds that i had to deal with this weekend.  There were so many things going on and i think they predictied an extra million people in the city this weekend.  I decided that i would try to avios all the havoc as much as possible this weekend and not go out alot (plus i had alot of homeowrk so it worked out) , but the one day that i did i was really glad i did.  I had plans to go to the Castro street fair with a bunch of friends, but then a coupple of them could not go because their parnents were afriad of the naked people that might be wandering the streets of castro .  And if you were wondering there were no naked people, some almost naked, but none that were completley naked.  I love street fairs because of the wonderful atmosphere that they have and all of the enthusiasiam.
Castro Theater
I got some fancy new pins from some really cool old ladies.
Me slightly angry because of the bus delay.

I know that i forgot to get any pictures of my full outfit, but i was looking pretty snazzy.  I was wearing highwaisted black and white shorts, a SF bike week crop top, a jean jacket, and my bright green combat boots.  It was a nice change from my grandma chic clothing that i usually wear.  I felt like a person of a grunge blog on tumblr.

I Would Like to Thank the Academy

Ok, so the coolest thing in the history of my blogging has happened.  This wonderful girl Maya (who is fantastic and a Rookie too) nominated me for this thing called a Libester Award.  I was super confused at first, because i mean ya know, I didn't really think people really read this, but I'm super excited now that i know what it is.  Pretty much what it means is that I am one of her favorite Blogs that has less than 500 followers (one of the upsides to not having a lot of followers i guess).
Now I'm going to go into the who spiel about what i have to do and I'm actually really excited for this.

When you get this award, you have to:

-Post 11 things about yourself
-Answer the 11 questions the person giving the award has set for you.
-Create 11 questions for the people you will be giving the award to.
-Choose 11 people to award, with less than 200 followers and send them a link to your post.
-Go to their page and tell them.
Also if I nominate you, you put this badge in your post

11 Things about me:

1. I am 15
2. I love sewing and fashion
3. I can't spell even if my life depended on it

6. I have always wanted to dye my hair green but i never have
7. I love Rookie, and Tavi
8. I follow way t many TV shows
9. I wish I lived in the 70's (minus the whole women not having rights thing)

11. I do not like squishy fruit

Answers to Questions:

1. What's your favorite store to shop at? Why do you shop there?
I really like the shop Sway.  There are a lot of really cool things there for not that much money.  Also the people who work there think that they are really cool and they really are not, so that is funny to watch.

2. What's your favorite band right in this moment? Favorite song by them?
Well that one is easy.  Clearly it is Marina and the Diamonds.  I love her so much and their song Starring Role is so fantastic.  The lyrics kind of described my life for a little bit.

3. What's your favorite movie?
   Breakfast Club. For sure

4. If you could live in one cheesy eighties/nineties movie, which one would you live in?
Well i think the previous question just answered this question.  I would love to be in the breakfast club and have friends that were made by an impromptu weekend in detention

5. If you had to wear one outfit for an entire year what would it be?
This one is a little bit harder, but I think that it would have to be my blue shorts/skirt from sway, my safari animal button up, a black bow-tie, and my brown oxford heels.  I love that outfit i feel really happy whenever i wear it.

6. What are you most passionate about? Like what can you rant about for hours?
This is going to sound very Rookie of me, but provably women rights and feminism   I don't even want to get started with it because you will get me going with ranting.

7. Who/what inspires you most?
Really great musicians really inspire me.  Not the 6 year old piano prodigies, but the real musicians   The ones who had to work for what they wanted and had to prove themselves to the world to make it.

 8. What's the one piece of clothing that makes you drop your pants when guys/girls (whoever you're attracted to) wear it? (Like me with collars+sweaters)
Oh my,  well i would have to say when a guy wears super hip glasses they just look sp refined and knowledgeable and it is really very attractive.

9. Who's your favorite artist?
    Dave Brubeck.

10. What's your favorite magazine/zine/book? (answer all three)
  Magazine: Vogue (duh)
Zine: shun me because i don't really read them
Book: The Fault in our Stars by John Green

11. What's one piece of clothing you cannot live without?
Being totally not practical here, but my bow ties.  I wear them all the time and they can make any outfit look dapper.

My Nominees:

Whale Songs

the wonderful artwork at my school

So i have made a deal with myself, i am going to try to be good about posting at least once a week, if not more.  i have been really very lazy lately about posting and I'll have the conversation with my self that will go a little something like this.
me: i really want to post today, but i don't have that many pictures, and people don't really care about my personal life, so i guess i won't.  Maybe tomorrow.
But now i am promising you, the faithful readers of my blog, that i will post more often now.
(Old Police band shit that my friends dad gave to me forever ago, shorts from sway, oxford heels, and a jean shirt)

So if you didn't already get this from me talking about art and music so much, i go to an arts school.  Every year all of the visual artists do murals at our school to make it look fancy, and i was just noticing and Wonder why i never take pictures in front of them (well now that i think about it, it's probably because people look at you weird when you do, but who cares).  This one was done last year by a senior and a close friend of mine.  It's one of my favorite around the school because i love Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol.

(cat dress, blue tights, thrifted sweater, DIY collar)

Oh and here is another outfit from the day before.  I got this dress from Hanne's sister because she left it when she went off to college, and i made this collar and sewed the cutest patch onto it.  Once i get my Etsy up I will be selling them.

Set Fire to the Rain

(diy mod dress, yellow jacket i got at a garage sale)

So I would just like to put it out there that my hair is ridiculously red.  I am so happy at how it turned out.  It was so easy too. I found one that i could just put on my hair and it would dye the rest of my hair while it bleached and dyed out the dark parts of my hair.  I dyed it this Wednesday for this thing at my school we like to call field day.  It is the most crazy and outrageous thing you will ever experience.  Everyone is high off of adrenalin (and some other stuff too) and going crazy.  It is the most athletic that you will ever see an arts school get.   I havent been able to start my etsy yet because i gave been so busy helping to plan that, but i promise that the minuite i get the chance all of my stuff that i make will be for sale and you guys can just give me all of your money.  That's the plan!

Oh my! I almost forgot to tell you guys.  My wonderful friend Hanne, the one with the fantastically pink hair and the wonderful sence in style, finally made a blog.  So now instead of just looking at pictures of her  on my blog you can look at them on her blog too! collective-frowns.blogspot.com

I Dress To Impress

we bitchface to show our passive aggression

This week was spirit week at our school and that is always fun.  I'm one of those annoying people that is actually into school spirit.  One of my favorite days this week  (besides field day) was our day that we dressed to impress.  At first i thought it was the most stupid thing i had heard of, i mean ho boring is it to dress up fancy for a spirit day, I do that on a normal basis.  But then me and my friends decided to do our own take on the day.  and of course being who we are we dressed to impress Tavi.  I hope she is proud and very impressed.
new grandma sweater

I went thrifting last weekend at Clothes Contact.  I have decided it is my new favorite new store.  it is super vintage and thrifty and it has really cool stuff and everything is $10 for a pound of clothing.  For $10 there i got this sweater and a fantastic pair of shorts.
